Hereβs the BEST Camera Gear Iβve used for Backpacking & Hiking over the past 10 years!
mirrorless DSLR? DSLR means “mirror” …you’re basically saying a “mirrorless mirror”
After a long layover (20+ years), I am looking to get back into backpacking, as well as my love of photography. I recently purchased a Sony RX0 ii, and various and sundry doo-dads to go with it, along with an entry-level drone.

Completely agree – Sony files are a bit too clinic for my taste, too. I find Nikon files and lenses to be a decent compromise between the two. That said, I use a dinosaur Fuji XT-1 for my stills-only family stuff.
A DSLR has by definition a mirror. D stands for Digital and SLR for Single Lens Reflex (the Mirror that flips down for the Prism in the Viewfinder). What you actually mean is a DSLM (Digital Single Lens Mirrorless) camera. If you call yourself a camera nerd, you should know this.
