  1. It’s an upgrade for hammock campers, not an upgrade for someone who doesn’t want to camp in a hammock 😂

  2. Dude… it’s not a backpacking setup. I horse pack “and” I don’t much care for the tap dance of getting up to pee at night when ground sleeping in a tent. With a hammock, you unzip, swing your legs over and you’re up and out, just like a bed. Any hammock that mitigates pinched shoulders is a better night’s sleep… period. Unlike a regular hammock, setup is a snap with loop straps. It’s a bed, not a tent. As far as extra protection from the weather, take a tarp and a few hanks of paracord. Better still, get a 16×16 tarp and fully enclose the hammock, ridgeline to ground, for a hammock house. Again, not specifically for backpackers but great for campers in general. Backpack tents are purpose built for backpacking. This is something different but still purpose built. You just gotta shift gears in your noggin.
