Buy DD hammock, it has 4 pockets in the hammock. Then no ridge organiser needed.
Finding the best spot ever and the trees are just too thin ,so had to use extra slings to bolster the trees before setting up so as not to damage the trees ….or great spot trees just a little too close…..all the variables you can work out….no perfect places …means necessity being the mother of invention
I just tried a hammock for the 1st and loved it I set it up once in the yard then took it to the woods. A bit of an issue getting the height I needed but figured it out next time I have the under quilt to learn. I can say that the guys I went with complained about the hard ground and finding a level spot. I slept great, I liked the cocoon feeling I got from the hammock. I’ll never use a tent again.
Pretty simple. Tarp , hammock, sleep system. For cold weather an air mattress or foam pad to put underneath you for insulation. Done.
Interesting takes. I listen to hikers that always use shelters. I’m old school. If it’s not bad weather I don’t bother with a shelter. I do carry paracord and a tarp. I can count the times that I have used a tent on 1 hand in 45 years. Different perspectives of outdoor ingredients. Hammock camping is easy for me, but not for several days in a row or I will start feeling it.
